The upper garden
School Pumpkin Project
This year we are offering a pumpkin project to the schools.
The first part of May we will go to the classroom with seeds, soil and pots. The kids will plant the pumpkin seeds and decorate a stick with their name.
They will grow the seeds in the classroom for 4 weeks and then bring them to the farm and plant them in the plastic covered rows and put their stick beside it.
In late Sept. or early Oct. they will return to the farm and find their pumpkin plant. They can then measure how long the vines are and how many pumpkins each plant produced.
They will get to take one pumpkin off of their vine home with them.
